International students visiting Faculty of Education Masaryk University within Erasmus program can choose subjects of their study from the following portfolio:

1) Czech Educational System

The aim of the subject is teach students to interpret new knowledge; apply new knowledge and skills in practice;  interpret current educational issues; adopt thoughtful stances towards the issues studied and use new knowledge reasonably to further own development.

2) Czech Educational System Seminar

At the end of the course the student will be able to: – understand the basic terminology of the subject – explain the relationships and connections between particular aspects of the subject – use the information acquired in the subject to expand one’s own perspective of the issues studied – create a database of basic technical terms and their mutual relationships – present points of view well-argued on the basis of newly acquired knowledge.

3) Visiting of Schools

Main objectives of the course are to give to ERASMUS students initial experiential orientation in current Czech school system and educational arrangements, to confirm their vocational motivation and fecit complex (rational, skill also postural) springboard for pedagogic disciplines. At the end of the course students should be able to: understand and explain relationships between teacher and students. – use the information concerning the education for personal professional motivation; – create the image of the Czech elementary education; – interpret information learned on basis of observation in primary schools; – understand the basic terminology of the subject – present reasonable arguments within the boundaries of the subject including searching and finding further interdisciplinary links – apply new knowledge and skills in practice.

1) General Didactics

The aim of the subject is to initiate, promote and develop professional vision, knowledge and performance of future teachers.

2) Theory and Methodology of Education

The course is considered to be an introduction for the prospective teachers and aims its attention to theoretical and methodological concepts concerning the formation of individual’s personality in individual and socializing contexts. At the end of the course the student will be able to: – interpret new knowledge – apply new knowledge and skills in practice – interpret current educational issues – adopt thoughtful stances towards the issues studied – use new knowledge reasonably to further one’s own development.

3) School Policy, School System and Legislation  I

The aim of the subject is give to students orientation in contemporary school system in the Czech Republic, its organization, drive and evaluation, as well as in conceptual questions of education and upbringing. The students will get insights into legal issues in education (school legislation), get familiar with school management and will get prepared for team cooperation in terms of schools bodies. At the end of the course the student will be able to: – understand the basic terminology of the subject – explain the relationships and connections between particular aspects of the subject.
