Celoživotní vzdělávání

We offer three types of lifelong education programs:

Rozšiřující studium AJ pro SŠ

This one-year program offers the opportunity for students to become qualified to teach at secondary schools. It is designed for students who are already qualified to teach English at lower levels (having a Master’s degree in it) and wish to expand into secondary schools (such as those students who have completed one of our Učitelství programmes).

During the two semesters, students will investigate Methodology, the Historical Development of English, Stylistics, Literature, and Testing at Secondary Schools. The programme finishes with a written final work of approximately 30 pages and a state exam.

Entrance Exams

The entrance exam on the English language consists of a multiple-choice test on vocabulary, grammar, and text comprehension, as well as a few questions about life and culture in English-speaking countries that will investigate the basic orientation of the applicants.

The required initial level is the level C1 according to the CEFR, which corresponds to advanced or the international exam Certificate of Advanced English (though no certificate can replace the entrance exam).

Rozšiřující studium AJ pro 1. stupeň ZŠ

This is a 4-semester program focusing on preparing students to teach very young learners at basic schools. The programme finishes with a written final work of approximately 30 pages and a state exam.

This program is only opened once every two years.

Rozšiřující studium AJ pro ZŠ

This 6-semester program focuses on preparing students to teach at lower-secondary and upper-basic schools. It is designed for students who already have a Master’s degree in teaching and wish to expand their teaching to English and/or to this age of students.

The programme is a lot like our Lektorství programme in combined form, but with added flexibility. It covers a range of subjects within methodology, Literature, Linguistics, and Practical Language.

Entrance Exams

The entrance exam on the English language consists of a multiple-choice test on vocabulary, grammar, and text comprehension, as well as a few questions about life and culture in English-speaking countries that will investigate the basic orientation of the applicants.

The required initial level is the level B2 according to the CEFR, which corresponds to upper-intermediate or the international exam First Certificate in English (though no certificate can replace the entrance exam).
