Departmental Policy

All English Policy

All instruction at the department is conducted in English, which students are expected to use in the classes at all times or whenever approaching teachers. This allows students to practice their English at all times. Students should consider switching to English as soon as they reach the third floor.

IS and Mood-Link-A

It is expected that students are acquainted with and relate to the Information System and mood-link-a for information and results.

Plagiarism

Students are expected to present their own work. If assigned any task (essays, other home tasks, theses, etc.), the student is expected to work on it independently and to acknowledge all the sources he/she uses. Copying from the Internet or other sources without acknowledgment is considered plagiarism, which is unacceptable and will be severely penalized. Plagiarism arises even when ideas are taken from another source and not acknowledged. Students are expected to always be explicit about the source of their work. Violations may be reported to the disciplinary committee and may result in explusion.

Environment

A learner-friendly department also means an environmentally-friendly department. Please do not leave rubbish in the classroom. We have two bins in the department, one for waste paper and one for plastic bottles, where the students are invited to dispose of the respective rubbish for recycling.

Office Hours

Please try to see the teacher in their office hours if possible. You can find the office hours on the teacher’s door or at their page in the Information System. Note that the office hours change in the exam period, when the teacher puts up a list of dates on their door.

No Food in Classes

Soft drinks are acceptable.

No Mobiles

Please make sure your mobile phone is safely switched off before entering the class.
